Elizabeth R. Nichols joined Secrest Wardle’s Troy office as an Associate in 2024. Elizabeth is a member of the Firm’s Motor Vehicle Litigation and Premises Liability Practice Groups. Elizabeth graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts, Political Science – Prelaw, and a minor in Law, Justice, and Public Policy. Ms. Nichols went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law where she graduated cum laude.
Throughout college and law school, Elizabeth spent her time in the legal field as a legal assistant and law clerk before serving as a student attorney, member of law review, law clerk, and now attorney. As a student attorney, Elizabeth provided pro bono legal services to musicians, artists, photographers, and other creatives, representing clients before the Copyright Claims Board. While acting as a student attorney, she acquired practical and substantive skills in intellectual property law, including copyright and trademark law. Her experience as a junior member and senior editor on Detroit Mercy’s Law Review further provided her with substantial experience in legal writing and research.
Elizabeth is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Insurance and Indemnity Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Young Lawyers Section.
