COA: No Coverage as ATV Accident Did Not Occur “In Connection With” Insured’s Premises Based on Strict Reading of Homeowner’s Policy

In Meemic, the Court of Appeals applied a strict construction of the “in connection with” language of a homeowner’s policy. The Court cautioned that a different reading would expand the risk assumed by the insured in drafting the policy. The Court’s decision is significant as in doing so, it ultimately declined to open liability for many similar accidents that arguably occurred “in connection with” an insured’s property.
