Craig O. Pavlock joined Secrest Wardle in 2012 as a member of the Municipal Practice Group. Mr. Pavlock currently prosecutes local ordinance misdemeanor and civil infraction cases at the 48th District Court for the City of Bloomfield Hills, in the 51st District Court for the Township of Waterford, and in the 52/3rd District Court for the City of Auburn Hills and the Village of Lake Orion.


He has prosecuted a variety of different types of criminal cases including Arson, Assaults, Criminal Sexual Conduct, Drug offenses, Drunk Driving, Embezzlement and Fraud offenses, Gun offenses, Homicides, Murder, Obstruction of Justice offenses, and offenses both by and against police officers. In addition to litigating criminal cases at trial in the district, family, and circuit courts of Oakland County, he also has experience as a prosecutor writing criminal complaints, warrants and search warrants as well as responding to and writing motions regarding all criminal evidentiary issues. 


Prior to joining Secrest Wardle, Mr. Pavlock was an assistant prosecuting attorney for Oakland County. He spent a total of two years in the Warrants Division, four years in the District Court Division, three years in the Juvenile Division, and six years in the Circuit Court Division. Mr. Pavlock has extensive experience as a prosecutor, having prosecuted cases in every court within Oakland County as well as the 35th District Court in Plymouth.  


As a municipal attorney, he has prosecuted criminal cases for the Cities of Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills and Walled Lake, as well as Bloomfield and Waterford Townships and the Village of Lake Orion.


Mr. Pavlock is a dedicated prosecutor and believes in keeping the police agencies he provides service to current in the law.  He has served as an instructor at the Oakland Police Academy, the Oakland County Sheriff's Department and several local police agencies on topics including search warrants and regulatory crimes as well as providing annual legal updates in changes in the law.


Mr. Pavlock has been a member of the Prosecuting Attorney's Association of Michigan, the National College of District Attorneys and the National District Attorneys Association while an assistant prosecutor for Oakland County. He has received training at the National Advocacy Center in South Carolina through the U.S. Department of Justice in trial advocacy, evidence, and cross examination. He has also received training in the recognition and prosecution of arson cases by the State of Michigan.


In July of 2013, Mr. Pavlock joined the Orion Township Fire Department as a Part-Time/On-Call Firefighter/EMT.


Mr. Pavlock graduated in 1993 from the University of Michigan with a degree in Psychology in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. He earned his law degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law in 1996 while clerking for Judge Michael Batchik at the 52/1st District Court in Novi. He was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in July of 1997.
